Fototalente und das Auge für die gute Fotografie bei den Immoos
Wenn man das Internet nach den Immoos weltweit „durchgoogelt“ kann man heutzutage sehr viele Informationen über Zeitgenossen und verflossene Perönlichkeiten gewinnen. Man glaubt gar nicht, was man da alles finden kann. Nur noch wenige Leute wollen oder können sich vor dem „grossen Bruder“ so abschotten, dass über sie nichts herauszufinden ist. Bei diesen, für einen Genealogen wie mich, routinemässigen Überprüfungen des Immoos-Personenstands, fand ich einige Personen der Familie Immoos, welche sich in aussergewöhnlichem Rahmen der Fotografie widmen oder widmeten. Zufälligerweise scheinen diese Gene vor allem im Stamme der Immoos von der Degenbalm gehäuft vererbt worden zu sein.
Für einige scheint es ein Hobby zu sein, andere betreiben die Fotografie aber beruflich, als Profis sozusagen. Da fallen mir doch immer wieder wunderbare Fotografien in die Augen, welche von den Immoos-Fotografen ins Netz gestellt oder dort publiziert wurden oder immer noch werden. Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, Panoramio, Flickr & Co. sei Dank! Wollen wir doch einige dieser Fotografen hier im Genealogie-Blog etwas näher unter die Lupe nehmen.

Drehen wir das Rad etwas zurück in die 40-er Jahre des letzten Jahrhunderts, denn noch viel früher war Fotografie im Bereich der Familie etwas sehr Spezielles. Davon zeugen in vielen Familien die alten Fotoalben oder Familienfotos in Schachteln gesammelt. Oder eben auch, dass keine fotografischen Dokumente vorhanden sind.
Die Immoos-Fotografen im Portrait:
-> Der Pionier
Lange bevor es das Internet, ja geschweige denn Computer gab, wagte sich in der Urheimat der Immoos in Morschach und in Schwyz Walter Immoos-Abegg (1919-2005) mit Cellophanfilm und zu Beginn noch mit Balgenfotoapparat als Pionier unter den Immoos-Fotografen an die Kunstform Fotografie. Wer von den älteren Zeitgenossen erinnert sich noch an die damals üblichen Cellophanfilme mit den speziellen Röllchen?
Seine ersten Fotografien dürfte Walter Immoos so um 1945 geknipst haben. Seine Leidenschaften waren die Familie, die Berge, die Natur, die Fotografie, das Filmen und der Sport. Nur wenige Gipfel der näheren und weiteren Umgebung wurden von ihm nicht bestiegen und eben, fotografiert hat er sie alle, die Berge, die Blumen, die Landschaften, die schönen Häuser und Dörfer und natürlich seine Buben. Man kannte ihn auch im Dorfe Schwyz als Fotograf, da er oft mit seinen umgehängten Fotoapparaten auf Fotopirsch anzutreffen war. Dies zu einer Zeit, da viele Leute für Fotos – gleich welcher Art – in Brunnen zum „Foto Odermatt“, in Schwyz zum „Foto Troxler“ oder „Foto Schulthess“ gehen mussten.
In seinem kleinen Fotolabor in der Metzghofstatt in Schwyz entwickelte, kopierte und vergrösserte er früher seine schwarz/weiss Aufnahmen selber. An den langen dunklen Winterabenden ordnete er seine Aufnahmen, rahmte die Dias und stellte sie zu wunderbaren Diaschauen zusammen. Erst als die Farbfotografie kam, hörte er auf, seine Bilder selber zu entwickeln und zu bearbeiten. In der Foto- und Filmgruppe Schwyz war er als Fachmann anerkannt und auch im Filmklub Luzern holte er Anerkennung und Preise für sein Schaffen als Fotograf und Hobbyfilmer. Sein ganzes Leben blieb er diesem Fotohobby treu. Tausende von Aufnahmen und Dias sowie viele Filme hat er als Erbe hinterlassen. Darunter sind auch Fotografien, welche heute bereits einen historischen oder soziokulturellen Dokumentationswert aufweisen. Zurzeit werden von seinen Söhnen die ungefähr 5000 Fotos gesichtet, dokumentiert und digitalisiert. Im Beispiel unten ein digitalisiertes Diapositiv um 1955 entstanden. Die Farben haben sich erstaunlich gut gehalten, die Schärfe entsprach den damaligen Objektiven der Hobbyfotoapparate.
Der Landschaftsfotoprofi
Ernst Immoos, Morschach, stammt von der Degenbalm, wie übrigens auch „der Pionier“. Schon früh trat er in die Dienste des „Boten der Urschweiz“ und lernte die Redaktionsarbeit von der Pike auf kennen. So machte er sich schon bald einen Namen als guter Fotograf und konnte sein Hobby Fotografie zum Beruf machen. Er arbeitete von da an sein ganzes Berufsleben als Fotojournalist für den „Boten“. Seit mehr als 50 Jahren fotografiert Ernst Immoos und sammelt auch historische Aufnahmen. Ganz im Ruhestand ist er auch mit 70 Jahren noch nicht, arbeitet er doch immer noch als freier Mitarbeiter für die Zeitung.
Hervorragende Bilder, oft mit ganz speziellen Perspektiven und an ungewöhnlichen Orten aufgenommen, das war und ist sein Markenzeichen. Ernst Immoos hat als «Bote»-Journalist, Fotoreporter und vor allem auch privat tausende von Fotos geschossen. Im Alltag, bei Anlässen, Veranstaltungen und zu den unterschiedlichsten Themen. Er selber schätzt, dass in seinem Archiv rund 150 000 Aufnahmen vorhanden sind. Ein riesiger Schatz. Der gerade auch deshalb wertvoll ist, weil Immoos die Bilder bestens dokumentiert hat. Sie sind gut erschlossen und damit zu einer historischen Quelle geworden (Zitatquelle: Bote der Urschweiz).
Ernst Immoos hat die wichtigsten Fotografien über die Gemeinde Morschach genau dokumentiert digital und analog der Gemeinde Morschach zur Sicherung ins Archiv übergeben. Ähnliches hat er mit seinem ungeheuren Archiv von über 150000 Fotos über den und im Kanton Schwyz aufgenommen vor. Diese sollen in die Fotosammlung des Staatsarchives Schwyz aufgenommen werden, um als Zeitdokumente erhalten zu bleiben.
Erstklassige Landschaftsaufnahmen und Bergfotografien zeigen unsere Heimat in vielfältigen Blickwinkeln und fotografisch perfekt mit einer Schärfe bis zum letzten Pixel. Seine Fotos zu betrachten ist immer wieder eine Augenweide. Hier: Viele Fotos von E. Immoos von Morschach und Umgebung anschauen oder auch als Fotobuch kaufen!
Der Kunstschaffende
Auch der Vater von Franz Immoos, Amsterdam, stammte ursprünglich von den Immoos ab der Degenbalm. Nach seinen vielfältigen künstlerischen Ausbildungen emigrierte Franz Immoos vor vielen Jahren als Künstler, Grafiker und Fotograf nach Amsterdam, wo er bald mit seinem Metier Erfolge feiern konnte. Seine Werke, ob Gemälde, Grafiken, Installationen oder Fotos konnte er schon in vielen bekannten Galerien in ganz Europa ausstellen. Franz Immoos hat sich im Laufe der Zeit einen Namen als Kunstschaffender in mehreren Kunstgattungen gemacht und kann als freischaffender Künstler schon lange von seiner Kunst leben. Ein echter Profi. Hier wollen wir uns vor allem mit seinen Fotografien beschäftigen. Franz Immoos veröffentlicht seine Fotos auf verschiedenen Plattformen wie Panoramio, Google+, Flickr, Facebook und seinen eigenen Webseiten. Hier kann man seine wunderbaren Fotos bewundern und in Top-Auflösung auch kaufen.
Seine Fotografien zeichnen sich vor allem durch Motiv, Komposition, Farbe, Emotionen und das Beherrschen der digitalen Fotografie und perfekter Bildbearbeitung aus. Bei Blurb können viele schöne Fotos und Fotobücher von Franz Immoos bewundert oder auch gekauft werden. Zum Beispiel: Brauchtum, Traditionen, Appenzell.
Der Joungster aus Leidenschaft
Denis Immoos, Informatiker und Fotograf, ist der Sohn vom gerade oben beschriebenen Franz Immoos aus Amsterdam. Der Apfel scheint also nicht weit vom Stamme entfernt gefallen zu sein. Auch er hat seine Foto-Gene zum Teil von den Immoos der Degenbalm auf seinen Weg mitbekommen. Denis Immoos fotografiert so beinahe ziemlich alles, was im vor die Kamera kommt – Unanständiges natürlich ausgenommen. Das Bemerkenswerte an den Fotos von ihm sind – nebst dem erstklassigen Beherrschen des fotografischen Handwerks – seine Experimentierfreudigkeit, der ästhetische Bildaufbau und der oft humorvolle Ansatz in Thema und Aussage. Zudem gibt er seinen Fotos mit einer perfekten Nachbereitung am Computer den notwendigen letzten Schliff und erreicht so die aussergewöhnliche Qualität seiner Bilder.

Der Amerikaner aus Californien
Tony Immoos, Sacramento, Kalifornien stammt von ausgewanderten Immoos von Morschach ab. Auch er ist – etwas entfernter zwar – verwandt mit den anderen Immoos-Fotografen, die in diesem Artikel vorgestellt werden. Ob er ein Profi- oder Hobbyfotograf ist, konnte ich nirgends genau eruieren. Seine Bilder sind jedoch von einer erstklassigen Qualität und legen es nahe, dass hier ebenfalls ein Foto-Profi am Werke ist. Ebenso ist es mir nicht gelungen, eine Portraitaufnahme von ihm selbst irgendwo aufzutreiben. Falls er selber diese Zeilen lesen sollte, bitte ich ihn, sich doch bei mir zu melden (Immoos Website: www. immoos.li), damit wir den Text über ihn verbessern und mit Fotos bereichern können.
Er veröffentlicht und bietet seine wunderbaren Fotos in verschiedenen Internet Fotoplattformen zum Kaufe an: Flickr, Panoramio, yourshot-nationalgeographic, 500px, und weiteren. Leider kann ich aus Datenschutzgründen keine Fotos von ihm hier veröffentlichen. Wer die Fotos von Tony Immoos bestaunen oder sogar kaufen möchte – es lohnt sich wirklich – muss das mit den Links einige Zeilen weiter oben bewerkstelligen!
Der Hobbyfotograf aus reiner Freude
Bruno Immoos stammt ursprünglich auch aus Morschach und bezeichnet sich selber als Fun-Photographer. Er sagt auf seiner Facebookseite „Bruno Immoos Photography“ selber, er sei kein professioneller Photograph, sondern mache dies aus Hobby, Spass, Lust und Laune. Bruno Immoos mag es, Momente in Bilder einzufangen. Seine Bilder veröffentlicht er auf Facebook. Weitere Angaben über Bruno Immoos konnte ich nicht eruieren. (Ich bitte ihn, sich doch bei mir zu melden, dann können wir den Artikel optimieren und illustrieren.)
Der Immoos-Genealoge mit Fotohobby
Am Schluss nun noch meine Wenigkeit. Ich bin der Betreiber der Immoos Website und dieses Blogs. Mein Name: Ruedi Walter Immoos, im Unruhestand, Immoos-Genealoge und Hobbyfotograf. Mein Vater ist der an erster Stelle in diesem Artikel beschriebene Pionier. Ernst und Franz Immoos sind meine Cousins. Mit den anderen Fotografen bin ich ebenfalls näher oder entfernter verwandt. Also habe auch ich die Foto-Gene der Immoos von der Degenbalm geerbt. Meine genealogische Arbeit und meine Fotos kann man unter verschiedenen Internetplattformen anschauen: Immoos-Website, Google+ und Facebook. Auch ich fotografiere eigentlich alles Anständige, das mir vor die Linse kommt, wenn es sich denn einer Aufnahme lohnt.

Die Aufzählung ist nicht vollzählig. Es könnte sein, dass es noch mehr Immoos gibt, die Fotografen oder Hobbyfotografen sind, ich sie jedoch nicht im Internet finden konnte oder sie dort nicht entdeckt habe. Meldet euch bei mir, dann werdet ihr hier in diese Reihe der Immoos-Fotografen aufgenommen.

Photographing lies with the Immoos in the genes.
And the eye for good photography at the Immoos
If you go through the internet after the immoos worldwide, you can nowadays get very much information about contemporaries and past personalities. You do not believe what you can find. Only a few people want to or can be locked up before the „big brother“ so that nothing can be found about them. In these, for a genealogist like myself, routine checks of the Immoos Personality, I found some persons of the family Immoos, who devoted themselves to the extraordinary photography of photography. It appears that these genes appear to have been inherited by the sword, especially in the tribe of the Immoos.
For some it seems to be a hobby, others operate the photography but professionally, as professionals so to speak. Since I am always looking at wonderful photographs in the eyes, which have been put on the Internet by the Immoos-photographers or are still published. Turning the wheel back into the 40s of the last century, because photographing the family was very special. Many of the family’s old photo albums or family photos bear witness to this. Or even that no photographic documents are available.
The Immoos photographers in the portrait:

Long before the Internet, let alone computer, dared to take part in the home of the Immoos in Morschach and in Schwyz Walter Immoos-Abegg (1919-2005) with cellophane film and at the beginning still with bellows photo apparatus as a pioneer among the Immoos photographers Artform photography. Who from the older contemporaries remembers still the usual cellophane films with the special rolls?
His first photographs might have snapped Walter Immoos around 1945. His passions were the family, the mountains, the nature, the photography, the movies and the sport. Only a few peaks of the nearer and further surroundings were not climbed by him, and he photographed them all, the mountains, the flowers, the landscapes, the beautiful houses and villages, and, of course, his boys. He was also known to him as a photographer in the village of Schwyz, as he often had to deal with photoprints with his hanging photo apparatuses. This at a time when many people had to go to the „Photo Troxler“ or „Photo Schulthess“ in Schwyz or Photo „Odermatt“ in Brunnen for photos of any kind.
In his small photo lab at Metzghofstatt in Schwyz, he developed, copied and enlarged his black and white recordings himself. On the long dark winter he arranged his shots, framed the slides, and put them together to create wonderful slide shows. It was not until the color photo came that he stopped developing and editing his own pictures. He was recognized as a professional in Schwyz, a photo and film group, and he also won recognition and prizes for his work as a photographer and hobby filmmaker at the Lucerne Film Club. He remained faithful to this photohobby all his life. Thousands of recordings and slides as well as many films he has left as a legacy. These include photographs that already have a historical or sociocultural documentation value. At present, his sons are sighted, documented and digitized. In the example below, a digitized slide was built around 1955. The colors have kept surprisingly well, the sharpness corresponded to the then objective of the Hobbyfotoapparate.

Ernst Immoos, Morschach, comes from the Degenbalm, as is also the „pioneer“. Early on he entered the service of the „Messenger of the Urschweiz“ and became acquainted with the editorial work from scratch. He soon made a name for himself as a good photographer and could make his hobby photography a profession. From then on he worked as a photojournalist for the „Messenger“ all his professional life. For more than 50 years, Ernst Immoos has been photographed and has also collected historical recordings. He is not yet retired at the age of seventy, but he still works as a freelancer for the newspaper.
Outstanding pictures, often with very special perspectives and recorded in unusual places, was and is his trademark. Ernst Immoos has shot thousands of photos as a „messenger“ journalist, photo-reporter and above all privately. In everyday life, on occasions, events and on different topics. He himself estimates that his archive contains some 150,000 recordings. A huge treasure. This is also particularly valuable, because Immoos has documented the pictures very well. They are well developed and thus become a historical source (source of quotation: messenger of the original Swiss).
Ernst Immoos has handed over the most important photographs of the municipality of Morschach to the archives in a precise and documented manner. He has presented a similar picture of his immense archive of more than 150000 photographs taken over and in the Canton of Schwyz. These are to be included in the collection of the Staatsarchives Schwyz in order to be preserved as time documents.
First-rate landscapes and mountain photographs show our home in a variety of angles and photographically perfect with a sharpness to the last pixel. Also the father of Franz Immoos, Amsterdam originally came from the Immoos from the Degenbalm. After many years of artistic training, Franz Immoos emigrated to Amsterdam as an artist, graphic artist and photographer, where he soon celebrated success with his profession. He has already exhibited his works, paintings, graphics installations or photographs in many well-known galleries all over Europe. In the course of time, Franz Immoos has made a name for himself as a creator of art in several artistic genres and can live as a freelance artist for a long time from his art. A true professional. Here we will focus on his photographs. Franz Immoos publishes his photos on various platforms such as Panoramio, Google+, Flickr, Facebook and his own websites. Denis Immoos, computer scientist and photographer, is the son of the above-described Franz Immoos from Amsterdam. The apple therefore does not seem to have fallen far from the stem. He, too, took his photo genes to some extent from the Immoos of the Degenbalm on his way. Denis Immoos shoots almost everything that comes in front of the camera – Exclamation, of course, except. The remarkable thing about the photos of him is, besides the first-class mastery of the photographic craftsmanship, his enthusiasm for experimentation, the aesthetic image composition and the often humorous approach in theme and statement. In addition, he gives his photos the perfect finishing touch with a perfect follow-up on the computer and thus achieves the exceptional quality of his pictures.

Tony Immoos, Sacramento, California is derived from Morschach’s immo-property. Also, he is – somewhat distant though – related to the other Immoos photographers presented in this article. Whether he is a professional or hobby photographer, I could nowhere exactly. His pictures, however, are of a first-class quality and suggest that a photo-professional is also at work here. Likewise, I have not managed to get a portrait shot of himself somewhere. If he himself should read these lines, I would ask him to report to me (Immoos website: www immoos.li) so that we can improve the text about him and enrich with photos.

Bruno Immoos originally came from Morschach and described himself as a fun-photographer. He says on his Facebook page „Bruno Immoos Photography“ himself that he is not a professional photographer, but does it from hobby, fun, and mood. Bruno Immoos likes to capture moments in pictures. He publishes his pictures on Facebook. I could not find further details about Bruno Immoos. (I ask him to report to me, then we can optimize and illustrate the article.)

At the end, my little one. I am the operator of the Immoos website and this blog. My name: Ruedi Walter Immoos, in disability, Immoos genealogist and hobby photographer. My father is the first pioneer in this article. Ernst and Franz Immoos are my cousins. With the other photographers, I am also closer or more distant.
